Fallout

Fallout is the process PropertySync runs to automatically detect changed documents within a plant. Fallout is enabled by default on all plants, but can be disabled at any time.

Another way to customize fallout's reach for is through a company's "Order Expiration Date". This is a setting that will automatically stop running fallout for orders created by a company after they have been open for a designated number of months. This setting is not enabled by default, but can be enabled at any time for a given number of time no less than one month.

The following steps make up fallout:

• Each night starting at 7:00 AM UTC (12:00 AM PST/ 11:00PM PDT), fallout is run for a plant if it has fallout enabled
• Find all open orders for this plant that have not yet expired (if the "Order Expiration Date" has been set). This step is performed again for all companies with orders created in the plant
• For each order, find all saved searches attached to the order that have the "Run Fallouts" option enabled
• Re-run each search and compare new results with old results in search of any differences
• Sort the changes as either new documents, or changes to existing documents found in the search
• For anything that has been updated, flag the order with fallout. Any discovered changes are added to the order's "Fallout" page
