PropertySync UI Enhancements Overview
PropertySync has updated its user interface with the goal of streamlining navigation across the site. These changes were made in an effort to make it easier to find the data you need across the PropertySync platform. With these improvements navigating the PropertySync user interface should be a much smoother, comfortable experience.
Side Navigation Menu Changes
The side navigation menu was previously the only navigation menu provided in the user interface. Due to the nature of how it was implemented, it took multiple clicks (and longer load times) to navigate to different pages across the site. Another issue was how the menu would change depending on where you were within PropertySync. If you were in the "Indexing" side of the application, the side navigation menu would look entirely different from what it would look like if you were in the "Search" side of the application.
Now, the side navigation menu has been consolidated into one universal design. The plant picker was moved to a new location (don't worry, we will get to that in this overview), and now the side navigation menu contains only the most general links to help navigate to the most used pages in the application, and will look the same no matter what page you are viewing.
There are five links in the new side navigation menu that are split into a few different categories. These are:
- Dashboard
Search Links
- Orders
- Run Searches
Indexing Links
- Batches
- Batch Imports
The links that were removed from the side navigation menu have been relocated to one of our two new menus.
Plant Navigation Menu
The first new menu located at the right of the application header is the plant navigation menu. To open the menu, simply click on the button displaying your current active plant and its effective date. Upon opening, you will see two to three different sections (depending on your user privileges).
At the top, some basic information about your active plant will be displayed. This includes the following:
- Plant Name
- Plant ID
- Plant Effective Date
Next is where all the plant specific links will be located. Instead of having to navigate to search or indexing depending on what page you need to find information specific to your active plant, now you can access this plant navigation menu from nearly anywhere within the application. If your user does not have access to any of these plant specific pages, this section will not appear for you.
At the bottom of this new menu is the location for the improved plant picker. One issue of the previous plant picker was that you could not change your active plant from the "Indexing" side of the application. Now, you can change your active plant from any page. NOTE changing your active plant will relocate you to the Dashboard as was the case in the previous user interface.
User Navigation Menu
The other new dropdown menu located at the right of the application header is the user navigation menu. To open the menu, simply click on the circular button containing the current user image/company logo. Upon opening, you will see two to three different sections (depending on your user privileges).
At the top, you will see your name, alongside the name of the name of the company associated with your user profile.
Next is where all the Admin links can be found. These have also been consolidated similarly to how the plant specific links have been consolidated in the plant navigation menu. These links will be accessible from nearly anywhere in the application, making it much easier to get to whatever page you need within the PropertySync application. If your user does not have access to any of these admin pages, this section will not appear for you.
At the bottom are the link to view your profile, and the Log Out
button. The functionality for these options has not changed, but you now can access these options from anywhere within the PropertySync application.
Application Footer
The footer has also been improved to provide more information and better navigation to some key information regarding the PropertySync application itself. At the bottom of the application, you will find the following links:
- Documentation
- Privacy Policy
- Terms of Service
We hope you enjoy the new, streamlined PropertySync user experience!
